Anne’s Shawl

Anne’s Shawl was designed for my Aunt Anne, one of the nicest and kindest people I know. I wanted a shawl that would wrap around you and hug you, and so this is a pi-shaped shawl with extra increases at the side to create a crescent shape. When blocking the ruffled picot edge creates a full circle like the sun, with the top edge mimicking a rain drop shape inside.

The design features techniques such as:
~ Provisional Cast On
~ Latvian Braids
~ Increases & Decreases
~ Selvedge Edge
~ Picot Cast Off

The yarn I chose is that of my own creation as this shape is perfect for gradient yarns, however most standard 400m per 100g skeins of fingering weight yarn would work too.

The pattern is in written form only, there are no charts used.
